My one year anniversary of breast cancer diagnosis
On January 19th, 2017 at the age of 42 (and with no family history of cancer) I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer. After a whirlwind of medical appointments, tests and scans I had surgery on February 1st, followed by 8 weeks of daily radiation treatments. I am now taking tamoxifen for “5 to 10” years and managing the side effects. It’s been quite a year!
This being my one-year anniversary, I’m looking back at the wonderful care received and would like to help others in our area. I’m raising $2,500 to sponsor a remote Pop Up Screening for breast cancer. Amounts over $2,500 will be used for additional screenings or gas cards, transportation and utility subsidies for low-income women diagnosed with cancer
You can make a donation online with your credit card by clicking the button above my fundraising thermometer or, if you prefer, you can mail a check.
Many thanks to my spectacular husband, Robert, and wonderful doctors, Heather Bracey, Julie Cupp, Lane Rosen and Robert Nickelson for their care during this time.
Thank you for supporting me in Brandy's Anniversary Pop Up Screening as I participate in support of ending breast cancer forever.
